At 11:32 on June 25, the world’s first largest-power electric locomotive “Shen 24”, hauling a 10,000-ton coal train, slowly departed from Shenmu North Station of Shenshuo Railway.
The high-power electric locomotive is marking a major breakthrough in the country’s railway technology. The locomotive was jointly developed by CRRC Zhuzhou and China Energy Investment Corporation. It is composed of six sections and is 106 meters long， the super power of a stand-alone power of 28,800 kilowatts and a tractive force of 2,280 kilonewtons set the world record for the power of rail transit equipment
Dubbed “Shen-24”, the locomotive has a maximum speed of 120 km/h and can pull a 10,000-ton freight train on a 1.2 percent slope.
