According to the Guangzhou Daily News: Guangzhou’s rail transit industry is booming. It is reported that the added value of Guangzhou’s rail transit industry in 2019 was 17.186 billion yuan, an increase of 6.2%, and revenue was nearly 90 billion yuan. The revenue of this year is expected to exceed 100 billion yuan and will reach 120 billion yuan for 2021.
The Guangzhou Metro Line 7 uses the domestic MTC-I CBTC signal system, which is jointly developed by the Guangzhou Metro and the China Academy of Railway Sciences. The Guangzhou Metro will use this as an opportunity to continue to promote the evolution and upgrade of the system and build a city rail with market competitiveness signal equipment manufacturing industry chain.
In the district Panyu, Guangzhou CRRC Rail Transit Equipment Co., Ltd., jointly invested by CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Metro, has an annual assembly capacity of 350 vehicles. In recent years, it has gradually shown its talents, from the production of a few trains to independent trial production, to Mass production finally achieved the important goal of “Made in Guangzhou” for all the trains on Line 7 for the first time, making the train production more localized, the technical level more mature, and the service response faster. Line 7 trains have adopted lighter materials for cold protection and changing the battery box from a vertical type. The overall weight is reduced by nearly 900 kg per train.
